How to choose the right face wash for your skin?

Every day our skin goes through a lot you have cosmetics, creams, makeup, external pollutants, sweat, grime and the oil from our sebaceous glands clogging our pores. There is so much scope for microorganisms to grow on your skin so don’t you think cleansing all the muck is important?

Cleansers will remove all the dead cells, sweat dirt and makeup from the skin and help maintain skin hygiene. Cleanse your face once in the morning and once at night. Choose the right cleanser based on your skin type, your existing skin conditions like acne and the climate that you live in.

Cleanser for Dry skin

If you have dry skin look for a gentle cleanser that will have added moisturizers and super fatty acids like petrolatum, mineral oil, lanolin, cocoa butter, glycerin and ceramides. you can also look for natural ingredients like jojoba oil, coconut oil, aloe vera, soy bean oil and olive oil. You must avoid soaps with antibacterial or exfoliating properties as they can irritate your skin. Also avoid soaps because they have a high PH.

Cleanser for Oily skin

For the ones with oily skin choose a cleanser that foams gently. You can choose exfoliating ingredients like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid or botanicals like aloe vera, tea tree oil or even grape seed oil as they help to balance the oil production. If you tend to break out easily or if you are on some medication for acne you must opt for a gentle non-soap cleanser.

Cleanser for Combination skin

If you have combination skin that is an oily t-zone you can opt for a cleanser that is neither too drying nor too moisturizing or you can use a cleanser for oily skin on the t-zone and a cleanser for normal skin for the rest of the face.

Cleanser for Sensitive skin

Do you develop a rash with any face wash you pick off the shelf then you have sensitive skin I would advise you to stay away from any medicated face washes or face washes with fragrance or alcohol in them they can all irritate your skin further. Choose a cleanser with a neutral to acidic PH with moisturizing properties. Micellar water works best for sensitive skin it absorbs all the dust and impurities and cleanses the skin thoroughly.
