Should I be using Vitamin C in the day or at night?
You can use Vitamin C both in the day and at night.
When you use it in the day
– It has an added advantage of protecting your skin from harmful effects of UVA and UVB, as well as pollution
When you use it at night
– It is preventing fine lines and wrinkles and hyperpigmentation as well as acting as a potent antioxidant.
So using it in the day is more beneficial but you need to use the right formulation. Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate or Ascorbyl palmitate are great. L-ascorbic acid which is a highly potent form of Vitamin C must be used with a lot of sunscreen because it gets oxidised the moment it is exposed to light and then the efficacy reduces. Thus, use L-ascorbic acid either with the sunscreen or use it at night.
